Who AurariaGO is for
AurariaGO is a community for students on the Auraria campus in Denver. Every account must be verified with a school email address from CU Denver, MSU Denver, or the Community College of Denver, and every member confirms at sign-up that they are 13 or older. The app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to hold an account.
What is prohibited
We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. On AurariaGO it is prohibited to:
- Post, share, request, or link to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form, including drawn, generated, or edited imagery.
- Sexualize a minor in any way: text, images, comments, usernames, or profile content.
- Use posts, the anonymous board, events, or direct messages to groom, solicit, or arrange contact with a minor for sexual purposes, or to traffic or exploit a minor.
- Share sexual content with someone you know or believe to be a minor, or ask a minor for sexual content.
- Promote, normalize, or provide instructions for any of the above.
This applies to public posts, anonymous posts, events, profiles, and private direct messages alike. These rules are part of the Community Rules & Terms every member agrees to.
How to report
Reporting is built into the app and takes a few seconds:
- On any post, event, reply, profile, or message, open the ⋯ menu and tap Report.
- Choose a reason. Reports are anonymous to the person being reported.
- Content reported by three different students is hidden automatically while we review it.
You can also email us directly, and you should if a child is in immediate danger or the material is outside the app. If someone is in danger right now, contact local law enforcement first (911 in the United States).
What we do about it
- Review within 24 hours. Every report is reviewed by a person. Reports involving a possible minor are treated as the highest priority.
- Removal. Confirmed CSAE content is removed immediately. Uploaded photos are also scanned automatically for sexual content at upload time and blocked before they are shown.
- Account termination. Accounts that post or solicit CSAE content are permanently banned. There is no appeal for CSAM.
- Reporting to authorities. We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its CyberTipline, and to law enforcement as required by law. We preserve the related account and content records for those reports.
- Cooperation with law enforcement. We respond to valid legal requests from law enforcement agencies investigating child exploitation.
Compliance
AurariaGO complies with applicable child safety laws, including United States federal law on the reporting of apparent CSAM (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), and with the Google Play Child Safety Standards policy and Apple's App Store Review Guidelines on user-generated content. We review these standards at least annually and whenever the law or the platforms' requirements change.
